What do you do on the TJV ?

I am a volunteer with the Le Havre-based communication agency DB Com, which works with the Transat Jacques Vabre organization teams. With a team of skippers, I supervise groups of visitors who come to do semi-rigid boat trips: I goive the safety instructions, make sure that each passenger has attached his or her lifejacket, and accompany them to the boat. They are then taken on a guided tour of the Paul Vatine basin, where a guide explains the history of the boats at the start, the race, etc...

It's really interesting to work with the skippers because you learn a lot about the world of sailing and the maritime world, which was totally unknown to me until now.

What course of study are you following ? Why did you choose this training ?

I'm in a BTS Communication program at Saint-Jo-Sup. I chose this training because it is very supervised: there are only a few of us and the teachers are very present for each of us.

Moreover, the BTS format offers the advantage of a training with a lot of practice, and not only theory. I chose communication for its creative aspect.

What do you think of Le Havre ?

I am originally from Le Havre and I think that the city has become much more modern in the last few years, especially for young people: there are more and more activities and various things to do, the bars and nightlife are right in the center of the city, and you can do almost everything on foot!
