Yara and Jasper, German students, are honored in the magazine LH Océanes, which highlights the 10 years of friendship between Le Havre and Magdeburg.

Yara Boehlen, 20 years old

Originally from Munich, I was doing a degree in Amsterdam and, during an internship in Paris, I heard about Sciences Po, which combines economics, history and politics. As I was not too fond of the Netherlands and had done exchanges with France, I chose Le Havre Campus where I started, in 2020, the study of Mandarin. I would like to go into diplomacy and international law. After a shock at the city's modernity, I have learned to appreciate Le Havre, its place, its numerous events, its human size which favors exchanges. I set up a project of social inclusion through art, which allowed me to meet many local actors of the culture.

Jasper Boll, 19 years old

Born in Berlin, I arrived in Le Havre in 2020 after graduating from a school where 104 nationalities were represented ! This gave me a taste for Europe and international relations, I chose France, the closest friend of Germany, and then Sciences Po for its reputation and its alliance between political science and economics. I would like to do research and why not work for the European Central Bank. Among the eight campuses in France, I chose Le Havre for its historical interest and its location in Normandy, a very picturesque region. We are only five Germans out of 300 students. I find it fantastic that 75 years after the bombing of Le Havre, it is possible for a German to walk through its streets so naturally, without any resentment. I became a big fan of Le Havre where I got involved with Hangar 0, a sustainable and inclusive project that allowed me to get to know the city and its people better.
