Founded in 1984, the University of Le Havre Normandie aims to provide its students with innovative, high quality educational programmes relying on renowned research facilities and long-standing partnerships with major players from the socio-economic world.

This multidisciplinary university offers more than a hundred training courses in various fields. It also aims to facilitate the professional integration of its students and promote their international mobility. The educational programmes provided by the University of Le Havre Normandie have evolved with the new economic challenges and the adaptability of courses has been improved.

With more than a hundred training programmes, the university offers courses accessible to high school graduates and characterised by their progressive specialisation :

The courses available are divided into 4 faculties :

  • Arts, Literature, and Foreign Languages
  • Law, Economics, and Management
  • Humanities and Social Sciences
  • Sciences, Technology, and Health

The students are welcomed on 3 sites (Caucriauville, Frissard, Lebond) within :

  • 3 Teaching and Research Units (UFR) : Sciences and Technology, International Affairs, and Arts and Humanities
  • 1 University Institute of Technology (IUT)
  • 1 school of engineering : the Higher Institute of Logistics Studies (ISEL)
  • Without forgetting to mention the In-house Training Service and the Apprentice Training Centre (CFA).

Providing students with a strong theoretical background while developing their professional skills, the courses rely on the scientific potential of the university (12 research facilities, of which two are associated with CNRS and one with INERIS) and long-standing partnerships with major players from the socio-economic world.

Facilitating success and professional integration

The University of Le Havre Normandie has placed student success at the heart of its concerns. Beyond the courses chosen by the students the university community is committed to providing them with a quality environment and an individualised educational support.

In order to facilitate their professional integration, a service gathers all activities related to educational counselling and information : the SUIO. With the help of the teaching staff, the SUIO also supports students looking for internships and helps young graduates with their career plans.

With 174 partner institutions around the world, students from 85 countries on its campus, and a third position in the latest national ERASMUS ranking, the University of Le Havre Normandie is characterised by its openness to the world.

Most programmes provided by the university include an international dimension, either through bilingual courses or through the emphasis put on foreign languages ​​and civilisations.

To encourage students to explore new horizons, most courses include study abroad programmes and internships in Europe or around the world. Students can also apply to be language assistants, to participate in summer schools, or to go on a language holiday abroad, etc.

Quality of life

The quality of life on the campus is crucial for the University of Le Havre Normandie. Everything is done to make sure each student benefits from favourable learning conditions and quality facilities for sporting activities, but also enjoys the vibrant campus life and attractive cultural programme.
Various activities are organised for students to help them integrate into life at the university and allow them to combine studies with social life… and see the university as a campus to live !

The university offers many sports activities. Both competitive and leisure sports activities are managed by the Physical Activities and Sports Department of the University (SUAPS), which relies on quality facilities and also takes advantage of the ideal location of the university by the sea ​​to offer water sports activities.

The Cultural Department and the University Library enliven the campus with a variety of events designed to foster artistic encounters and sharing. They also encourage students to practice artistic and cultural activities. Partnerships with local institutions and cultural players give students opportunities to take part in some of the main local events.
