The Taste of Others Festival

In January, the “Le Goût des Autres” festival is the festival of literature and literary creations in Normandy.

The artistic project of the festival proposes to rediscover a problem, which literature and the world of ideas have seized. The festival brings together writers, actors, musicians, illustrators, dancers, visual artists, screenwriters from the 7th art…

 

Student sails

Every year in march, student sails invite crews from major French and foreign schools and universities for a weekend of competition and celebration. An event that is both friendly, festive and sporting!

 

Amazon Race

Every first Sunday in June takes place The Amazon race, a 6 km course dedicated to the fight against breast cancer and specially dedicated to women. Registration fees are partly donated to the cancer league and local associations to support prevention.

 

The Circus Festival

In June, the Fête du Cirque is a festival of circus and street arts, with around fifty performances over the weekend and a big ball on Saturday evening!

A Summer in Le Havre

Every year in june, A Summer in Le Havre has been set up in the city to introduce you to monumental works and exhibitions.

A summer in Le Havre was born in 2017 to celebrate 500 years of the founding of the city and its port.

This exceptional anniversary was celebrated with an XXL summer program, festive, dense, lively designed and directed by artistic director Jean Blaise.

 

In 2017, 2 million people participated in the event. A success which made it possible to repeat the event until 2026.

 

A healthy summer

In July and August, the City of Le Havre transforms into a huge playground and offers sports and well-being activities for all, supervised by qualified sports instructors.

Come and discover more than 70 free activities, alone, with friends or family. Get moving in your neighborhood, at the beach, at the Bassin du Commerce, at the Montgeon forest or at the Polygone with a program rich in activities.

 

Snowboarding weekend

In August, the City of Le Havre hosts the Sliding Weekend every year, a stop on the FISE Xperience tour. The opportunity to enjoy three days of celebration for fans of freestyle sports (BMX, scooters, rollerblades and skates).

Normandy Impressionist

In August, this multidisciplinary festival highlights, through multiple events, artistic creation in all its forms, from Impressionism to the present day : Impressionist exhibitions, contemporary art, photography, live shows, conferences, etc.

This event undoubtedly revisits this artistic movement, no longer limiting it to the idyllic representation of the landscape but placing it as a “witness of its time”, inseparable from the societal upheavals of the times.

On the shoulders of giants

In September, the city of Le Havre, in partnership with the Collège de France, the CNRS and the University of Le Havre, is organizing “On the Shoulders of Giants”, a unique scientific cultural event.

In 2023, the event brought together more than 100 speakers including internationally renowned scientific figures such as astronaut Claudie Haigneré and physicist and Nobel Prize winner Alain Aspect.

 

Béton Festival

In September, the Béton festival is a powerful combination of music, architecture, design and ecological values propelled over three days in several emblematic places in Le Havre.

Arranged and occasionally designed by musicians, local producers and other short circuit players, the places come to life, come alive and are discovered for total immersion in the urban world.

"Colorful, summery, good-natured, diverse, transgenerational, the Béton Weekend aims to be surprising and boldly mixes culture, walks and celebrations... to help you discover Le Havre in a different way."

Unlike the other events mentioned, Le Havre Seine Métropole is a partner of the event and not a financier.

 

The Sea Festival

 

Every year, in September, the traditional Fête de la Mer honors those involved in the maritime world, proud of their know-how.

On the program: festive music and entertainment throughout the weekend to have a pleasant time celebrating!

European Heritage Days

For two days in September, the major historical and cultural sites of Le Havre Seine Métropole are open to the public free of charge.

Visits and events organized to bring the heritage to life, the opportunity to enter places that are rarely accessible.

 

ZigZag Festival

In October, visit, survey, explore space, question perspective, dimensions and scales, reality and imagination... This is the invitation offered by the ZigZag architecture festival with landscapes as its playground. of the Seine Axis.

Supported by the Maison de l’architecture de Normandie – the Forum, it is about discovering architecture differently, through visits, tours or installations allowing immersive experiences.

An annual event putting the individual at the heart of their questions and proposing a resolutely sensitive approach to spaces.

 

Ouest Park Festival

In October, Ouest Park Festival sets up its marquees in the cultural wasteland of Fort de Tourneville, alongside Tetris, in a unique, colorful and warm setting.

A daring autumnal musical festival, with a program dedicated to current music of all genres, which has become an unmissable, friendly and festive meeting place in Le Havre and Normandy.

 

Student Lounge

In November, the Student Fair is the first major event of the school year to support students in building their career path. Its aim is to provide students with information on the higher education offerings on the Le Havre campus.

 

Grain Festival

In November, the Du Grain à Démoudre International Film Festival offers a week of cinema for everyone!

On the program: short and feature film competitions, practical workshops on cinema techniques, film concerts, meetings with professionals, etc.

Reinventive exhibition


In November, Le Havre Seine Métropole organizes the Salon Réinventif, the meeting place for reuse and recycling for the urban community.

The program includes sales of vintage and second-hand items, DIY and artistic workshops, exhibitions of local artists. The opportunity to learn tips and tricks on the art of reusing objects.
