Le Campus Le Havre Normandie se mobilise pour les étudiants en situation de handicap. Ils les informent, les orientent et les accompagnent, ainsi que leur famille, vers les différents services qui leur sont dédiés.

Services provided :

  • Information, guidance, and support
  • Assistance with MDPH (Maison Départementale des Personnes Handicapées) applicationss)
  • Dispensation of MDPH applications
  • Installation of pedestrian facilities for persons with visual impairments 
  • Installation of infrastructures for persons with mobility impairments
  • Accessibility to the LiA transport network
  • Development of specialised transport services : Mobil’Fil, Ulysse, and taxis.

The Disability Department of the City of Le Havre

This department is in charge of :

  • Providing global support, guidance, and information on the various organisations dedicated to persons with disabilities
  • Carrying out awareness-raising programmes with the general public and other departments of the City of Le Havre 
  • Bringing associations together and providing logistics support
  • Counselling the Accessibility Committee of the City of Le Havre
  • Helping find adapted accomodation
  • Dispensing and assisting with MDPH applications
  • Providing information on the various services and initiatives dedicated to persons with disabilities implemented by the City of Le Havre

The Disability Department of the University

The Disability Department of the University of Le Havre Normandie aims to improve the everyday life of all students with disabilities by responding to their individual needs :

  • Student welcome, information, and support
  • Implementation of adapted courses, with the help of the Preventive Medicine Service 
  • Provision of a reception room
  • Provision of appropriate facilities for exams
  • Provision of appropriate equipment
  • Liaison between the student, his/her family, and the teaching staff
  • Integration of students with disabilities into campus life through cultural and sports activites 
  • Coordination with the local services dedicated to persons with disabilities 

Did you know ? 
HANDISUP provides a link between higher education institutions and professionals to support young people with disabilities entering working life. Alongside the University of Le Havre Normandie, the organisation links students and young graduates with disabilities with local companies to help them find internships and part-time work for sandwich courses. HANDISUP also advises young graduates entering working life.
