2nd year Sciences Po - Partnership internship - Transat Jacques Vabre

What are you doing on the TJV ?

I have been volunteer in the organization team of the Transat Jacques Vabre association for 15 days. I have been working on 2 main missions: the technical organization of the race start day, and the relationship with the partners and sponsors of the event. Having the chance to work on an event of this magnitude was a great experience for me, who didn't really know the world of event management. It allowed me to discover the technical backstage, and especially the crisis management in terms of logistics, and taught me to be reactive and efficient. I was also able to discover the relational side of maintaining a partnership, and the contract management side.

What course of study are you following ? Why did you choose this school/university ?

I am currently in my second year of a degree program at Sciences Po, with a specialization in Europe/Asia. Originally from Montpellier, I arrived in Le Havre last year in order to take this specialization, and next year I will be going to Southeast Asia for my last year.

What do you think of Le Havre ?

When you come from the south, the first impression is not necessarily in favor of Le Havre: the climate imposes a rather indoor life, which gives a different and less festive atmosphere. But it's a life that you learn to love and today I'm delighted to have discovered this city. The campus life is very dynamic: there are a lot of activities available and links between the schools, which helps to create bonds. And it's nice to have the sea, even if it's not the Mediterranean !
