🗣️ A celebration of eloquence
Organized by the law students' association of the University of Le Havre, on behalf of ARES ( National Federation of Associations Representing Students in the Social Sciences), the National Eloquence Contest each year honors the art of oratory and promotes critical thinking, creativity and civic engagement to a wide audience.
In 2025, 35 speakers, winners of previous university eloquence competitions from all over France, competed against each other. Omrane Slamani, student at the University of Nanterre, is this year's winner!
👉 The launch ceremony
The competition's opening ceremony took place on May 22nd at ISEL. The highlight of the evening was a joust between Pedro Lages Dos Santos, President of Le Havre-Normandie University, and Edouard Philippe, Mayor of Le Havre and President of the Le Havre Seine-Métropole Urban Community.
The replay is available on the Université Le Havre-Normandie Youtube channel.
We must celebrate eloquence, and at the same time not forget that it is at the service of what we say.

In all, some thirty activities were on offer, including a workshop on the “Art of the Speed Pitch”, rap performances focusing on commitment through words, and a mock trial showcasing legal rigor.
